Carrying Sunshine Forward

A New Year, a continuing story.
A new year always feels like a pause and a push forward all at once.
Time keeps moving whether we are ready or not. It carries us closer to what is next while quietly pulling us farther from what once was. This year marks our second year without my brother Boyd. Time can feel cruel in that way. But it can also be gentle. Healing does happen, even when the ache remains.
This Christmas, my sister in law gave me something that belonged to Boyd. I know what it meant for her to part with it, and I feel deeply honored to have received it. It is a tangible reminder of him, something he owned and touched, and now something I hold close. A quiet gift of connection.
As I look ahead to this next year, my heart is full of gratitude.
Suzie Sews Sunshine is getting a facelift as it officially becomes the non profit Suzie Sews Sunshine Foundation, Inc. We are currently waiting on one final piece of paperwork from the IRS to make it official. Seeing this vision grow from an idea into something sustainable and impactful has been incredibly meaningful.
To celebrate, I am excited to share two things.

First, a brand new logo. It is clean, fresh, and reflects where we are headed while honoring where we began.

Second, I have realized that while aprons bring joy and purpose, they do not naturally create repeat business. In an effort to build a sustainable foundation, we are now offering uplifting t shirts. These shirts are live on the website and will be shipped directly to you through a trusted third party. I will also have a limited supply available at fairs and markets throughout the year.
Most importantly, thank you. Thank you to every single person who has supported this mission and helped us raise funds for Stop Soldier Suicide. As Suzie Sews Sunshine becomes financially independent from my husband’s pocketbook, we will continue to grow, evolve, and boldly challenge the epidemic that is suicide.
Please hug your loved ones. Start the conversation. Tell your friends you are there for them.
Here’s to a hopeful and meaningful 2026.
With love and deep appreciation,
Suzie
